Troll challenge in Norway

From August 14th to 19th, 2023

  • Trail running 70 km or 55km in 3 days

  • D + 3800M -3000M

  • This free pace race, is for any runner or Walker 

This Third edition will take place in the fjords region in Øvre-Årdal at 200 km from Bergen.

The course

The course is a 80 km or 55km in 3 days.

Prices

880€ for registrations received before February 28

920€ for the following – 500 € for +1 (no runners).

THIS PRICE INCLUDES  

Registration for the race – 5 overnights camping (Possibility to rent 4-person bungalows and beds in a refuge for 150 € for 5 nights ) - Breakfasts and dinners

The meal at the Award evening – technical & medical assistance – Repatriation insurance - A t-shirt & a finisher medal.

Troll challenge program 2021

Wednesday 10th & Thursday August 11th

Welcome to the participants of the Øvre-Årdal campsite, bibs and bag check. (A bus transfer will be possible from Oslo Gardermoen Airport). Pasta party

 

Friday August 12th

1st stage 14KM / overnight at Øvre-Årdal campsite

 

Saturday August 13th

2nd stage 38KM or 27KM / overnight at Lake Tyin

 

Sunday August 14th

3rd stage 28KM  or 14KM/ In the evening, meal and prize giving / Overnight at Lake Tyin

 

Monday August 15th

Transfer to Oslo Airport Gardermoen

 

THIS PROGRAM IS GIVEN AS AN INDICATION - IT CAN BE MODIFIED

Essential running equipment

A backpack / Food for the race (3000 calories minimum) / A rainwear / A sweater / A blanket of survival / A whistle / A reflective armband / A headlamp / A kamel back / one "aquatab" box to purify water.

Non-essential equipment

A sleeping bag and self-inflating mattress (for those who have planned to sleep). 

Essential Documents

  • A validated passport (for at least the next 6 months). If you are not part of the European community, please Verify the documents needed at the Norway Embassy of your country.

  • A medical certificate proving you are healthy to participate to this race (less than 3 months old) or a license.

Travel Info: Travel to the Troll Challenge

To go to Norway you have several possibilities. Either you only participate to the Troll challenge (in this case the plane is the most indicated travelling mode). Either you want to enjoy the trip to spend holidays on the spot. If you choose this option, do not hesitate to contact me. With more than 28 trips to Norway I can explain you the best practices!

 

Airport transfer

By plane

Several airlines offer flights to Oslo. ! The website www.edreams.com offers very interesting flights.

 

By car or camper

Very interesting for those who want to spend a holiday in Norway.

 

By train

You will cross great landscapes and we will pick you up for free at the station FLÅM.

 

Location de voiture

You can also choose the plane and the car rental. The most interesting is to go through www.autoeurope.fr.

 

Accommodation

During the trail camping places are supported by the organization for 5 to 6 days. There are a lot of campsites in Norway. All campsites offer bungalow rentals for 2 to 4 people. or bed and breakfast
